Some Wedding Layouts

I have begun the fun task of making an album for Shannon and Rob. It is so much fun to do some girly pages and use some bling and lace. Here are the beginning of the layouts. There will be a lot more to come. I am just waiting on photos from their photographer. These are photos I took with my camera.

and also this one:

and a page on the bridesmaids, Lori and Kelsi:

Basic Grey is one of my favorite paper companies and I used "Porcelain for two of these wedding layouts and also bought the new collection of Max and Whiskers which is just perfect for pet layouts and these cards.  Here are some other projects I have worked on in the last month:

I have a lot of acrylic albums sitting around just waiting to be used for something creative.  This is an album I made of my home.  I stamped with Staz On Ink and just had fun with it:

Well that's it for today.  Now to go for a walk as I am about to take on a new journey of getting healthier as I have some health issues I have to address.

Shania Twain - From This Moment On

This was Shannon & Rob's song for their special wedding dance. It was absolutely beautiful to see two people so much in love. I don't think there was a dry eye in the entire room. I just had to share it. The words are so nice:

Cooking Up A Storm

The weather has been anything but spring lately so I thought it would be a good time to take advantage of making some dishes ahead to freeze for later.  Yesterday, I made Hamburger Soup, Shepherds Pie, and a big pan of Burritos.  I also make some Blueberry Pancakes that can be frozen and heated in the toaster later.  Today I am making a Banana Bread and Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I love to cook and bake, but not in the summertime.  The heat really doesn't agree with me so I really don't mind this weather for a short while.

Rick will be home on Wednesday and it's nice to spend quality time with him when Clayton is in school.  He likes to go for drives in his car and it's nice to come home and not cook.  That's our motto, work hard, then play hard.  It's how I roll.

Wedding Bells

What a month this May has been!  First there was the bridal shower and then the wedding last week.  It was so great!  My family was all together and Shannon and Rob tied the knot on Saturday, May 22, 2010 in Leduc.  All the preparations were worth it as Shannon and Rob had a wonderful ceremony, reception and dance.  There were about 100 guests and it was so nice to catch up with everyone.  Shannon looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress as well as Rob and the bridesmaids and groomsmen.  It has been a week of total reflection of what family is all about.  I thank God every day for giving me such a wonderful life and family.  I feel so blessed...

Brandon & Lori's New Home

There has been a lot of proud mommy moments lately and this is one of them.  Brandon and Lori sold their condo and moved into their first single family home last December.

Their house is spacious and will be the perfect size home if they want to have a family.  I love the TV room upstairs.

Five More Days

The wedding is really creeping up fast now.  It  was a whirlwind weekend but I am so glad that I was able to go to Shannon's bridal shower.

Clayton and I headed out on Saturday and got to Sherwood Park around 3 p.m.  We had an hour to kill so I had to check out my favorite scrapbook store in Sherwood Park.  I was able to find some fringe scissors!

It was the first time meeting Rob's mom, aunts and grandma.  Marion and Rod provided the house.  I got some photos of the event.  My mom was supposed to come, but was too sick with a cold to make the trip and she wanted to be better for the wedding next week.  Here are some pics of the shower:

Shannon got some beautiful gifts. It was the perfect opportunity to take some photos of Shannon and her bridesmaids and family.

Rick's Birthday

It was nice that Rick could be home for his birthday this year.  I made him a roast beef dinner and a black forest cake the day before his birthday.  I know he appreciates a home cooked meal when he comes home.

On his birthday, we went for chinese food for lunch and then went to pick up my new glasses.  We then picked Clayton up from school and headed to Calgary for dinner at the Cheesecake Cafe and to Chinook Centre.  Clay and Rick went to see the movie Ironman 2 while I did a bit of shopping.  Scrapbooker's Paradise had a ton of Slice cartridges on sale for $17.  They are regularly $50-$65 so I bought 9 cartridges and I feel I am in heaven!  What a deal!  I love my Slice machine!

I then went back to Chinook Centre to pick the guys up and had to buy some earrings for my dress for Shannon's wedding and some panty hose.

The wedding is creeping up fast now.  Today I will be looking for photos of Shannon's childhood for the slideshow that they will be putting together for the wedding.  There are presents to be wrapped for Shannon's shower on Saturday and my son's housewarming gift.

Rick is looking into buying a car so he is pumped.  He is a real car fanatic and Camaros are his favorite.  There is a nice black and white one in Okotoks that he is dealing on.

We shall wait and see how it all turns out today.

May 13, 2010

Rick is the proud owner of a Camaro once again and I don't think I have seen him so happy for at least two years.  He has missed his sports car and I know that is his passion and for all the things he does for Clayton and I, he deserves to have some fun instead of all work.  He bought the jacket and hat to go with  the car too.  Doesn't he look happy?

Another Day In May

Mother's Day came and went and now things are back to normal for a few days.  May is a crazy busy month with Rick's birthday, Diane's birthday, Mother's Day, Shannon's bridal shower and Shannon's wedding not to mention National Scrapbook Day.

Mother's Day is bittersweet to me.  It is nice that mothers are recognized for all their dedication and hard work for their families, but it can also be a sad day too.  My mother lost her son and lots of people have a mother that is no longer with them.  I find it hard because I don't see my older kids very often and I love to be around my family on Mother's Day.

Well onto more positive things, the sun is shining and it is another day in May and Rick arrived home late last night so I am going to spend some time with my buddy and best friend.  Rick's birthday is on Wednesday so I better think of what I want to do to plan for it.  Have a good day!

Monkey Love

It's always good to try new techniques and this one I scraplifted from Shannon Tidwell.  It was a little bit of  work, but I am happy with the end result.

National Scrapbook Day

I went to a crop in High River for National Scrapbook Day.  It was great to get out with the ladies as I don't seem to get out very often.  Crops for me means that I will socialize with ladies that love to scrapbook, just like me!  I never seem to get much accomplished, but it is great to see all the talented ladies out there scrapbooking with their own unique styles.
