Fall Cruise

My husband and I like to go for cruises in our car in the spring, summer and fall and it's just about time to put the "other woman" in storage as my husband doesn't drive it in the winter as we have harsh winters here.  It was a beautiful fall day here and wanted to share some photos of our day.

Loved this bear in the shop that we browsed in

Wouldn't these be great in a media room?

Let's Capture These Sketches Sketch #151

Today is the layout sketch reveal over at Let's Capture These Sketches.  It's been such beautiful weather where I live this week and the fall colours are at their best.  I took these photos this past weekend of my dad and my niece and nephew.  It was such a nice day and I enjoyed spending time with some of my family.

I used the new Farmhouse Paper Company Sugar Hill Paper Pack Fall for this layout.  I loved the warm autumn colors to this collection and the rustic feel.  Here is the sketch from Kimberly for Let's Capture These Sketches:

Such a pretty sketch.  Come play along with us and be inspired.  Have a great day!

Scrap It With A Song - Photograph by Nickelback

The Rock Chicks are rocking to the tune of Photograph by Nickelback over at Scrap It With A Song.

This layout has a lot of meaning to me because Nickelback originated from my province of Alberta.  In fact my brother and sister-in-law moved to Hanna, Alberta to live and start a tire business.  This is the same place the band  Nickelback grew up.  My sister in law even was lucky enough to get back stage passes to see them perform from locals there that grew up with Chad Kroeger and the band!

This song also is a sad song for me because my brother passed away six years ago at the young age of 38 and this was the song at his funeral.  I knew this layout would be difficult to scrap.  This was my brother when he was 4.  Wasn't he a cutie?

I hope you are inspired to scrapbook to the song Photograph. Come play along and upload to the Scrap It With A Song blog and you may just be our next guest designer!

Have a great day!

Scrapbook Challenges - Back To School Music Class

For the month of September, Scrapbook Challenges is having some fun "Back To School" challenges.  My challenge was "Music Class."  I came up with the challenge to use the song "Walk" from the Foo Fighters, which happens to be one of my favourite rock bands,  to create a layout.  Here is my layout:

Walk

This layout is of my son and husband on our vacation last summer.  I used a scoring and inking technique on my background and the Camp A Lot collection from Bo Bunny.  So now to get you rocking and rolling it's time to check out the video "Walk" by Foo Fighters:

Now it's your turn to play along with us at Scrapbook Challenges. Upload your layout with either the title "Walk" on your layout or a lyric from the song, or whatever the word or song walk means to you.  Come play along and upload your layout to the  Back To School forum thread "Music Class" at  Scrapbook Challenges.  I would love to see what you create but most of all have fun!

While your at it come check out some of the other Back To School challenges such as Geometry, Science and History and see what the other team members have come up with.

Have fun creating!

Country Roads Take Me Home

Today is another beautiful autumn day and with the record temperatures and virtually no wind, it was the perfect opportunity to get outside and capture some more Fall photos.

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #314

Hope you had a good weekend.  It's Monday and it's time for another sketch reveal over at Scrapbook Challenges.

I loved working with this sketch.  The layout is of my daughter on her wedding day chatting to her good friend.  I used the Sunny Side collection by Pebbles.
