I added several embellishments from my stash such as stickers, buttons, wood veneer birdies, flair, brads, bakers twine and a crochet flower.  The patterned paper, stickers and alpha stickers are from Echo Park's Simple Life Collection.

Celebrate Summer

Hello friends and followers! Just thought I'd share a summer layout today using some Hello Summer Flair from A Flair For Buttons.

These pretty coloured patterned papers are from the Fancy Pants Designs Summer Sun Collection.  I used some papers from a 6X6 paper pad and also some 12X12 sheets cut down.  The small prints don't look as overpowering on the layout.

I am digging these wood veneers from Lawn Fawn and the epoxy hearts from Pinkfresh Studios.

A layout isn't complete without some sequins, stamping and machine stitching, but also I added some hand stitched x's with DMC embroidery floss to look like a quilt.

I also used a digital cut file from Just Nick Digital Cut Files called Summer Words and colored the bottom layer word "summer" with a Gelato and topped it with a white card stock word "summer".

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out all the cool flair buttons in the A Flair For Buttons Shop.

Anchors Away Layout In Scrapbook & Cards Today Summer 2015 Magazine!

Hello friends!  Happy Friday! It's a good day here today. My son has finished his last final exam for grade ten so school is officially out for summer! I remember that wonderful feeling well.

Today I wanted to share my layout that was published in the Summer 2015 issue of Scrapbook And Cards Today Magazine.

Anchors Away Layout - by Lee-Anne Thornton (photo courtesy of Allison Orthner)

On my birthday three years ago, my husband gave me a wonderful gift…a cruise of the Hawaiian Islands on the Norwegian Cruise Lines Pride Of America.  This wasn't just any cruise, it was Crop And Cruise 2012, a scrapbooking and photography cruise with at least 80 Canadian women and American women and did we have lots of laughs and fun let me tell you.  I have never been on a cruise before and never been to Hawaii so it was amazing!  We docked in several ports and saw Maui, Kauai, The Big Island Of Hawaii,  and Oahu (Honolulu).

My layout was created with the Ahoy There Collection of papers and stickers, the die cut title and nautical wheel were cut with my Sihouette Cameo from designs that are available in the Silhouette Online Store.  The background stamp and and flair buttons are from Creative Embellishments.

I can't tell you how honored I am to be published in this magazine among such talented designers.  It really is a dream come true for me.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog.  Be sure and check out the new summer issue of Scrapbook And Cards Today here.  My layout is on page 64.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great weekend and don't forget to make time for something you love!

Just Married Captured Layout

Hello friends! Happy Wednesday! I am happy to share another layout that I created with the Just Nick Fancy Floral Digital Cut File and the word "capture" from the Capture This Digital Cut Files set.  This wedding layout is of my daughter's wedding day.

I cut the Fancy Floral Cut File with my Silhouette Cameo on some paper from the Fancy Pant's Designs Flutter Collection and also the word "captured" on gold foil paper by Fancy Pants.

I hand stitched inside every petal in several coordinating colors of embroidery floss and also about 1/4 inch from the outside edge of the background paper with several colors.

The title is popped up with some dimensional squares on every other letter.  I added some sequins and flair buttons too.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.  You can find the Fancy Floral Digital Cut File and the Capture This Digital Cut File set in the Just Nick Store here.  Thanks for stopping by!

A Wedding Card

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a good day. Today I wanted to share a quick wedding card I made using my Silhouette Cameo.  The design is created by artist Daniela Angelova and is available for puchase in the Silhouette Online Store.  It is Design ID #67329.

Today, my family will be attending a dinner for my sister in law's marriage. My brother passed away 8 years ago and my sister in law is getting married again to a really great guy.  I know my brother would have been happy to see her find love and happiness again and not be alone as he was only 38 and they had a son 2 and a daughter 4 when he passed.  Ivan has been very good to my sister in law and my niece and nephew and I wish them nothing but happiness.

I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you do something you love!

The Great Outdoors Layout

Hello friends. Today I am sharing an outdoor layout of my daughter and son in law ATVing.

For my layout I used two different sets of flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons, some papers, chipboard embellishments and stickers from the Bella Blvd. Campout Collection and some mists from October Afternoon.  To create my background on the white card stock, I used some cellophane packaging and sprayed a little mist onto it and then "stamped" it onto the card stock.

I added some hand stitching below the clouds to give it more texture.

I also added some machine stitching around the patterned papers

I hope you enjoyed your visit.  The flair buttons on this layout and hundreds more can be purchased at the A Flair For Buttons Store.

Thanks for stopping by!

You Had Me At Meow Layout

Hello friends! Today I'm up on the A Flair For Buttons Blog sharing a layout I created of my cat Sheldon.

Simple Stories has these cute Cat Sn@p! 3X4 Cards and Cat Sn@p Insta Squares & Pieces that have been sitting in my stash and although I didn't buy any patterned paper to use for these, I thought I would create my own by painting with paint dabbers in four bright colors to coordinate with these.

I then began layering papers and die cuts and popping up the photos and some of the die cuts with dimensional squares.

I added three flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons Got Cat Flair to my layout.  I love using flair on my layouts and couldn't wait to play with these.

I also added some sequins and enamel dots and hand stitched some x's randomly on the page.  I am really loving these colors lately and have been doing a lot of hand stitching on my pages these days since I have a huge bag full of DMC embroidery floss from my old cross stitching days.

I also added some label stickers and mini alpha stickers to add words to my page.

Here are the flair buttons that I used on my layout.  Aren't they cute?

I was also inspired by the June Sketch over at Paper Issues.

Flowers Make Me Smile

Hello friends! Happy Sunday! Today I had my morning coffee out on my front porch and decided to take out my camera, you know the one besides the iPhone.  I must say I have become lazy in the past year and don't use my DSLR camera nearly enough.  I decided to practice some macro photography since I have a macro lens (Canon 100mm F2/8L IS USM) which I don't use very often.  These are beginner photos.  Macro photography is a different world altogether and I would like to improve my macro photography skills so to improve it's practice, practice and more practice.

Here are some of the photos of my front yard flowers that I captured today.

I love color and I love Spring. My favorite season of the year.

Thanks for visiting my blog and now I'm off to my studio to scrapbook some of these photos.  Have a lovely day!
